Been working at a young ladies house sorting out her kitchen. Knocking down a wall with a doorway and she asked if I could pop the door upstairs because a 'bloke she knows' will swap it with the bathroom door. The door I was talking out was fairly new 6 panelled door and the one in the bathroom was bog (no pun intended) standard. The house is an ex-council and has metal internal doorframes.

Jokingly, said to her that she could fit it herself because with metal frames standard doors should just slot straight into the frame with hardly any fuss. She said that the bloke had told her that he will have to plane the door down etc to fit and was going to charge her £40. I chucked her my cordless and off she went for an hour (it was her first attempt at anything DIY) and she came downstairs to say it fitted a dream.

Later on the bloke turned up to arrange fitting the door and she kicked off at him saying she had done it with no problems - apparently he has done 4 doors for her so far for £40 each. During his b0llocking he was just looking at me as if to say "you b'stard - I could have got away with that!.

Great story, and well done to the lady for doing the job herself :thumbright:
