Thought this may amuse ....

Last spring time, I got a local tree surgeon to cut down a redwood and also remove some tree stumps around the front and back garden - about 9 I think?

Anyway - I am working away in my office and hearing the stump grinder going for a couple of hours and then doorbell goes.

Tradesman: "Finished the work"
Hoovie: "Great"
"But I need to show you something"
"OK ........."

walk round to patio .... one of the panes of glass in patio door is smashed!

"Sorry - stone chip flew out and hit it"
"OK, these things happen, I guess"

pause

"Could I show you something round the front?"
"O....K......"

Walk round front and he shows me my car with a smashed rear window

"Sorry - stone chip flew out and hit it"

Hmmmmm :? :sad: ::b
"OK, I'll get some quotes and tell you how much you owe me"

About a hour later the boss turns up and says "Sorry about this. He is a subbie and will pay for the damage"
H: "OK, fair enough, accidents happen"
Boss: "Oh - and while I am here, could I have a cheque for the work"

  :angryfire:

Told the boss I will wait for damages to be paid before I pay for the work! - He made his subbie pay rather them stump up himself (geddit  )

You are quite right, YourWeb. He was a nice guy and very embarassed about what happened.

I would employ him again as he will remember what happened and will take great care to not repeat it!
