Hi All

I work at talkRADIO on the Jon Holmes Show and we are looking for tradesmen that have done a job for a celebrity, no matter how minor.

It can literally be doing anything from building work to changing a lightbulb, and we get you on air talking about it for a few minutes.

Please email me your celebrity and contact details to removed. Mod 2.

Thanks!

DIY seems to be very popular among TV/radio producers at the moment and every few weeks we get posts in the forum asking for people to get in touch to be considered for a TV/radio program, some companies even email first to ask for permission.

To make things clear and to avoid any confusion here is the forum’s stance on TV/radio programs-

You cannot post in the forum asking for participants in any way shape or form from now on, anyone posting such posts will be banned.
TV/radio companies get paid for making programs and have a budget. I am sure that every time you advertise in a newspaper you have to pay for the advert, so asking to post in a forum that is free and is there to benefit people for free when you are being paid is just not right.
I don’t care which TV/radio Company you are either, this is a blanket ban on all such posts.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation

Also it may well be that any celebrity who had work done by a handyman would object to being talked about in this way.

I can see it might be amusing finding out some rugby player wears lace undies at home or some pop superstar's bedroom smells like old cheese but really! Its just voyeurism and intrusive. As bad as paparazzi. I decided not to be famous and rich years ago because I would kill any sneaky photographer who wanted pics of my kids. Leave them some privacy. The worst w*nkers make a fool of themselves anyway, like Justin Flobber. Good on UHM and Mod2 for banning this shite.

I built some flatpack for a premiership footballer .. I'm not telling though. (I was surprised that on that sorta salary they didn't buy proper ready made furniture though)......

I visited James Dyson's house for a telephone line fault(he wasn't in) some years ago. I can't remember what the fault was now but ISTR the house had a grey and yellow colour scheme like his range of cleaners at the time.

A fairly well known actress live s a few villages a way, and I went to her house(she wasn't in either!) because her hubby had drilled through a phone cable while installing curtain tie backs. I do remember there were very nice biscuits.

I've just had a quick Google, and Talk radio(re)starts on 21st March on DAB. Couldn't see John Holmes in the presenter list though.

It brought back a few memories, if nothing else.

This was one, anyone remember her?

Give that man a banana - it is indeed Carol Hawkins - aka in some circles, (well, just the one circle really) Mike's Mum. :-)
