I thought it may be a good idea to post short "useless tips" in respect of gardening.........

Working on anything electrical? have you got a multi meter? why not? Would you hit a nail with a shoe?

If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

NEVER use metal plant pots / containers no matter how decorative, they will rust / corrode over time. (Yep, just found out the hard way)

Slug pellets don't work don't bother, metalldehyde (soon to be banned) and replaced by the more expensive ferric sulphate and the very expensive nemaslug catch them and squash them asap.

Organic treatments are effective for getting rid of weeds. eg vinegar. Vinegar burns the leaves and kills that years growth only it doesn't kill down to the root. The only thing that does is a relatively safe systemic herbicide eg glyphosate and then only if applied before the plant has seeded otherwise there will be thousands of them next year. Habitual hoeing wears them down but it wears down your hips as well

Don't bother growing peas just by a bag of frozen from the supermarket. They take up a load of space and the yields are low they go as hard as bullets very quickly so you have a glut which you have to freeze anyway

One I'd add is gravel doesn't make a garden low maintenance or at least for long. The weeds are soon growing in it , it makes edging impossible as it buggers up tools, it migrates to where you don't want it and mowers hate it and can often shoot it a fair distance and people buy the 20mm stuff to cheaper and put t on too thick and it's a pain to walk on and almost impossible to wheel the mower across it.
Oh and decking , makes the garden look like it's covered in pallets.

Wait until you try it with your pet spastic in a wheelchair, it's nigh on impossible. :cussing:
