Hi

I want to build an extension, It fills the space between my kitchen wall where it abuts the neighbors kitchen and another neighbor's wall. This one though is an outside wall. Eg I see the outside of their wall.

Plans have been drawn up but the architect has put on the drawing a brick wall. It's only a single skin but it takes up space and needs full footings.

What I would prefer is insulation inside a stud and plasterboard skin. should be able to put that on the floor slab. I can modify the drawings before I send them in for planning consent.

Do you clever people have any thoughts on it. Can I do that?

Thanks

Tim

Attached are a couple of pics of the drawing. In the second you can see where the proposed brick wall is. I would rather have say a 100mm stud wall infilled with a good insulator.

What I'm trying to find out is if there are regs on new builds having a particular barrier between dwellings. On the existing side there is none.

Added a photo of wall
