I bought one of these about a year ago. It gets a reasonable amount of use, heavy DIY. It has started to chuck of the velcro discs (I use klingspoor ones) seems a bit early for a change of the sanding plate to be honest.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Al, Understand where you are coming from but have been using Klingpor since day 1 without problem, also not based in UK and genuine stuff is hard to find.

I've been using ROSs for a while now (about 19 or so years since my first Festo one) and they all start to throw discs sooner or later. I have to ask if you've been using an open mesh type disc such as Mirka Abranet, because if you have then that will speed up this wearing out considerably. This is because the Abranet mesh is thinner than the length of the hooks on the bottom of the tool. In that instance you are well advised to buy one of Mirka's own disc pad savers as an interface between the tool's pad and the sanding disc. They really do work with Abranet (increased my pad life by a factor of 3 or 4), but I don't know if they'd be effective with other abrasive materials
