I'm having some issues with my latest Ryobi charger, it's the RC18150 'Super Fast' version and maybe a couple of years old now.

I plug it in and the red light comes on fine, plug in any battery I have (4.0ah & 5.0ah) and the red light still stays on solidly, no blinking, no green light, just solid red light.

Does this mean that the charger is not detecting the battery? I've cleaned all of the connections on the batteries and the charger and still get the same result. I can't see anything online (ok so I've not spent hours searching but...) about battery in and solid red light only.

Any help appreciated as always.

Thanks

Chib.

get them into a warm room for a few hours as they dont like cold /damp or heat
suspect the charger is at fault if both batteries wont charge :dunno:

Quick update on this - the fast chargers are covered by a three year warranty (years 2 & 3 are subject to registering the product with Ryobi within 30 days of purchase). I didn't register and the charger went wrong 14 months after I bought it (typical eh) but I thought what the hell, the worst they can say is no if I ask for it to be looked at so I went back to the place I bought it from (CBS Tools) and they put me in touch with a repairer local to me in East Kent for a warranty repair. I took it along with proof of purchase and a week later I got a text from the repairers to say it had been fixed - happy days!

When I went to collect it, it hadn't been fixed at all, they had replaced it with a new one - so even happier days!

Very pleased with all companies involved.

Thanks

Chib.
