Re, the relaxation of planning regulations.

This is the one which, amongst other things, states that permission is no longer
required, to turn part of a garden into a parking place, provided that drainage is
considered, ie permeable surface such as gravel, or open joint paving. In other
words, no tarmac.

Am told that this was introduced in Country Planning on 16th May 2017.

Could anyone please confirm that this is the case or was this proviso
already in effect on the date mentioned above ?

I think much depends on the planning zone of your property. I really think that in these sort of situations it is best to talk to planning at your local council. Usually they will answer a simple question like this over the phone. Certainly if there is no impact on adjacent properties then it usually okay but I think I would want reassurance from the local authority first.

Speak to your local planning department, no good taking answers from the internet, you need a proper answer.

:withstupid: It depends on your area, where I am there is a blanket ban, unless there are extenuating circumstances - you have to go through the council for a dropped curb anyway (highways iirc)

A local woman had her garden laid in block - the council wouldn't let her have a dropped curb due to it location, she carried on using it, so the council come along and put 2 bollards in
