Hi all,

I've just lifted my carpet in the rear of the room and I have come across a partly rotten floorboard which must have got wet at some point in its life.

Just wondering what would be the best method of replacing?

Would it be measure and get a replacement board cut to same size, lift the old one out and nail/screw new one in to joists?

Sorry if its a really obvious answer.

Thanks

Pretty much as you say. Is it a floorboard or chipboard flooring?

Either way it may be tongue and groove which makes it tougher to remove as it'll be interlocked.

Make a note of any pipes or cables once you get old one up and screw new one back down. It'll stop it working loose and creaking
