Hi chaps, today I fitted a new keypad to my veritas r8 system, I'm assuming because the main panel battery and mains was turned off for 24 hours the system has reset to factory.

all I can do with the panel is set and unset it, if I enter my user access code which I changed from 4321 to 1234 and select a programming option number, it won't allow me to do anything, for example edit zones in part set suite 1 or even change the actual set/unset code to a personalised one, however it will let me do a walk test, any ideas?

Do you have the engineers code ? not 100% on that model, have you set up the keypad correctly ? The main panel settings are set in nvm (non volatile memory) so it shouldn't of lost its settings

edit. did you set the correct address (not the default one), is there more than one keypad ? you need the engineers code to register and scan for the keypads

iKN.

Hi Bob, yes engineers code I believe was 4321 otherwise it wouldn't of let me access the walkthrough option etc, it's just one keypad and no I haven't setup an address I'll look into that now

You have set the user code to the same as the engineers code. That causes problems. Type 1234 PROG 60 4321 PROG RESET to try to reset the user code back to 4321.

Ok I'll try that! So I'm guessing the engineers code would revert back to 1234?

The engineers code is different to the user code and its set when initially installed, it shouldn't of been reset just by powering the panel off
