Hi
Has any one got any tips for this ? There was a fashion in the 1980's for all woodwork , doors, skirting, bannisters etc to be built in a dark wood. Not sure if a varnish or stain but I want to over paint with waterbased eggshell. Has any one had good results / method for this ? I,ve sanded down and applied one coat of Zinsser bin as undercoat so far but looks very patchy.

Many thanks for any comments,
