Hi

I need to patch some holes in a concrete path. The catch is horses go over where most of the wear is :-( At a minimum I got depth of 75mm and no idea if there is much/any hardcore underneath (plenty of 'nure on top though). All in all, about 1sq metre in about 3 holes.

If I was to get this 20mm ballast from wickes, then:
- does the ballast have enough sand in it or should I be adding sharp sand?
- Assuming a 1 part cement and 6 parts aggregate is weak for horse feet, how strong should I aim to make the mix, e.g. 1 to 4?

Cheers :-)
