Hi People

I am trying to replace pin hinges on a door with ball bearing hinges of the same size. What I have noticed after taking off the top hinge of the door is that the ball bearing hinge will not fit as it has a thicker centre. If I take off all of the hinges, and replace them with ball bearing hinge would the door still close without planing the door?

Thanks Ray

mmm no way off telling really
by center do you mean the the pivot point 'leaf thickness' or distance between the outer surfaces off the leafs ??
also the chances off the holes on the hinges directly lining up is slim

If the leaf of the new hinge is thicker, it will need recessing into the door until it's flush with the surface, if the gap between the closed leaves of both styles of hinge is identical, the door will then fit as it did before.
