Hi all, I've got a charnwood boiler stove that feeds hot water back into the tank and onto wet underfloor heating / hot water. Each room is thermostatically controlled and set to 19o its a pretty large house 4400sqft.

I've noticed that within around 30mins of lighting the fire both the in and out pipes are running hot. Is this normal?

Thanks,

Devs.

Is the ‘gravity’ system to the HW cylinder getting hot? Christ, I hope there’s some good temperature controls on the UFH!!!!?

Cheers for the reply Dickie, I'm a novice at this.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by this or how to check... I've attached a photo of how its setup for ref. if it helps any?

Trust that its not normal for it to run hot so quickly?

Also how can I check what temperature controls are on the UFH?

It looks like a Thermal Store, can you get a photo of the Data Badge on it & post it up mate?
Is the UFH not working & not Heating the house?

I cant see a plate on the tank mate, unless its at the rear and can't be accessed. We may have some docs from when we purchased the house but I'll have to dig them out.

No the UFH is all working fine, I was just surprised how quickly the cold water feed into the wood burner begin to run hot. I expected it to always be circulating cold in to warm?

Cheers.

If circulation is done by something other than gravity, perhaps a Hi/Lo Thermostat is incorporated in the system;
See page 17 on these;
https://woodwarmstoves.co.uk/assets/pdf ... -APR16.pdf

This will ensure there’s no cold water circulated through the boiler & condensation corrodes the boiler.

Okay thanks Dickie for the input mate. Trust it's nothing to be concerned about and can be considered as 'normal'? I just expected the fires back boiler to have to work harder before hitting temp.

Thanks ;)
