Hi. I want to run a sky cable from 2nd floor of my house to first floor. to install an additional sky line.

Basically to set up 2 sky boxes for multi viewing for the 2 livings rooms. Both living rooms are at the front of the house, but the dish is at the rear of the house. Because it's a 3 floor hour the dish was fitted on the rear of the house on 1st floor. This meant it was eaiser for the sky installer to just run the wires through the rooms and hallway into the front of the house, instead of going over the building.

For the downstairs living room I will run another wire from the dish that runs the same course. Trouble is I want to figure out whether to drill down through the floor boards, or drill out to the exterior and then run the cable outside of the building on 1st floor and back into the building at ground floor. I have seen the latter being done a lot, is it becase it's safer/neater than drilling straight through the floor boards or just because it's quicker to do?

Its run outside because its easier, quicker and no chance of drilling something you shouldn't. But what you do is up to you.
