Hi

I have an unvented water heater (indirect) with a water hammer issue. When no taps are open and the boiler has been heating the water a pressure builds up inside. If you open a tap, the water initially comes out at a higher pressure until until it drops back to the 3 bar set my the valve. As the pressure drops back there is a vibration of the incoming water supply pipe which is quite loud. This only happen on the hot.

The value has been replaced and all the pipes are well bracketed. The expansion vessel is in good working order and it's pressure has also been checked.

Can anyone help with any ideas of what the problem could be?

Stewart

The expansion vessel should be charged at;
Working pressure x .8
So with a 3Bar working pressure, you’re expansion vessel should have 2.4Bar air pressure.
