I have a raised patio 5/6ft heigh which I want to fence around. The retaining wall itself is concrete block inside and clay brick facing. The top will be slabbed right to the edge with no raised coping around the outside. My query is how to handle the fence posts? I could just sink down behind the concrete blocks and fill with cement but then I'm losing 225mm of patio at least, would a better option be to cut out the concrete block and essentially sink the post down just behind the brick clad with concrete? Another option is a post plate but looks a bit unsightly.

Thanks!
