Hi All,
I am planning to expand my driveway. Driveway has already been laid with asphalt. Can someone tell me what sort of asphalt is required for this?
my strip is 6 meters by half meter and 2 inch deep

Also appreciated if anyone can tell me where to buy asphalt.

One of my friend told me that cols asphalt is OK for this job, is it OK?

Thanks and regards

You need six inch of hardcore, three of basecoat ( tarmac) and two inches of topping coat.

You can only buy small bags of patching tar.

You need the boys from the black stuff, its only a a small job and they will use it as a fill in job.

Never heard of "Cols" asphalt so assume it's a typo and you mean cold lay ...

Cold lay is fine for patching small repairs but no good for your driveway.

You may find that you need planning permission to extend the drive as local governments are trying to reduce rainwater run-off.

Either way; not a diy job. Get a couple of quotes from reputable tarmac specialists.
