i have one of the old black fuse boxs, with the wired fuses in. Brought an electrician in to fit some ceiling lights and received a quote at the time, as the wiring had been upgraded at some point and in good condition. So gonna have a new consumer unit installed.

Questions-

I have a electric shower on a like garage mcb unit, can this be scrapped and included on the new consumer unit.

Secondly i have a load of black units and a old black dial meter. once the consumer unit is installed can these be upgraded, or a new meter fitted just to tidy everything up, is this something the electricity supplier will do if contacted.

many thanks

liam

Hi Liam,

What did the spark quote for? Did he mention the seperate CU?

Depending on location, cables might need extending but I don't see a reason why it couldn't be incorporated into the new CU.
