Just had new neighbours move in next door to my mums(70yrs old) and they brought to her attention that her drain pipe (which comes out the side of the extension had cracked and was leaking)

then they want her to re run the pipe inside our kitchen then outside as apposed to outside along wall and into drain as it doesnt look aesthetically pleasing to them.

Extension has been there for over 20 years (before we moved in) and previous neighbours never had a problem with it. Then they want to box in our down pipe which runs down side of extension.

Im ranting on ait. They've really angered me

basically they want my mum to spend money so that their garden looks nicer.

pipes are on our wall so they cant touch them (why would you want to box in down pipe!)

will council e o our side ad is there anything wrong with the set up as it is

hope pictures are usefull

Tell 'em "caveat emptor".

It was like that when they bought their house. It's been like that without any objection from anyone since the extension was built.

Even if they were to offer to pay for the work themselves I'd still tell them where to go as there's no way your 70 year old mum wants to put up with the disruption.

I wouldn't be quite so polite about it as Inky Pete.

More a case of 'do they like sex and travelling? Well **** off then'

I'm guessing from here, but it seems to me that they are trying to take advantage of an elderly lady and unduly worry her. :cussing:

One of my EXTREME pet hates in life :angryfire:

Keep it where it is, there is nothing to make you/her change it.

If the pipe is cracked and leaking then it should be repaired. As for the rest tell Mum to ignore them.

I agree with all the others, repair the leaking pipe & tell them to go take a jump!! I don't understand people, why would you do that to an elderly Lady??!!
