Hi,I went to choose a bath from the Bath Store.I inquired about an acrylic bath, but the salesmen told me the heavy duty steal enamel coated bath was far better.I told him I had heard the were prone to being chipped. His reply was you could hit this one with a hammer without damaging it.Although I am tempted to go back tomorrow armed with a hammer.I wondered if anyone on here has any preference.

A good quality steel bath is better, but I prefer the acrylic, and Bathstore don't sell quality anything.

Steel baths are prone to chipping that is true. But people go for acrylic baths because they can be moulded into modern shapes and designs unlike steel.
However they do come in different thicknesses so you get what you you pay for.
