Hi guys, I am planning to build a stone shed on the rear of my property, but it would be right next to my neighbours SVP. Is there a law saying I cannot build within so far of it?

Cheers

Hi Nij,

To my knowledge, there is no min distance from a structure to a SVP. providing your not building over a manhole cover.

Cheers Simon, no manholes so all good. I was just thinking if he ever needs access to it - but he has had an extension built right next to it so his lost.

If the build is over the soil pipe it needs to be encased in concrete, and be subject to building regs.

You should also check the deeds, he may have access rights.

The soil pipe goes under his extension. He has no access rights though our back yard to his SVP - that was the first thing i checked lol
