I have inherited an older style belle mixer with stand. I am having the problem that the stand does not seem high enough, so the drum hits the barrow when tipped and will not tip out all of the muck. I have used newer belle mixers before with no problem. Does anyone have any hints for me or could they tell me the height of their stand so that I can see if mine is the same. As I said it is the old style which is in 2 parts.

Also I have noticed a slight oil leak (it is a 240V electric). What oil do I need to top it up?

The old stands were a lot lower than there new counter-parts i used to just stand it on a brick under each foot as for the oil leak you can just top it up with gear oil

Sadly, the quality isn't what it used to be.

As for the oil. They use a synthetic gear oil, so make sure that you either use the same, or drain and flush completely, then use a non synthetic.
