sounds really weird but the toilet cistern has developed a strange groaning noise every time you flush :wtf: ....does anyone know what is causing this noise and how can I fix it-i.e. stop the noise from happening every time I flush? the toilet is in a ground floor cloakroom and has been working fine for the last 10 years.
I would be grateful for some advice regarding the problem....thank you

In the ballvalve

You need to turn the water off, and undo the small nut to remove the valve body, you can then undo the larger nut to get at the washer.

ps, Don't loose the fibre washer.

Thank you for all the info...will give it a go. Do I simply replace the old washer for a new one, which will stop the noise? Is the damaged washer made from rubber/metal?
