I don't know if I've posted this in the right place but I'll give it a go.

I looking to install a new toilet in my tiny bathroom (6ftx7ft). The problem is that I'm told that the unit to conceal the cistern will have to come out from the wall a wacking great 145mm. Does anyone know if there are ultra slimline concealed cisterns for small spaces? I thought that the other option would be to have a high level cistern so its out of the way. The problem is all the high level cisterns I can find seem to be "victiorian" style iron or ceramic tanks. The whole look of my new bathroom is quite modern and this old look wouldn't fit. Does anyone know if there are modern versions that my chippy could box in and have a similar push button style rather than a chain?

Just for interest, I measured the distance from the reat of the toilet seat hinges to the wall in my downstairs WC that is fitted with a high-level cistern and long downpipe.
The distance is 130mm, so if you did go down that route it would seem you have enough room.

I think I have seen stainless steel type high-level cisterns which could be combined with a chrome/ss down pipe and would look quite contemporary - maybe check out industrial sanitary product suppliers?

EDIT: How about this:

STAINLESS STEEL AUTOFLUSH CISTERN

LOW LEVEL UNITS / HIGH LEVEL UNITS CAN BE FITTED WITH FLUSH BUTTON
