 Post subject: toilet cistern prblem

hi all,

when toilet is flushed it has started making a funny noise like a hum it only lasts a minute then goes any suggestions on what to do or what is the cause of it.

It is probably the inlet valve vibrating. I would isolate the supply and unscrew the valve body and check that the opening is not slightly blocked. Swap the seal while you are at it.

I had the same problem a few months ago and did what DWD has advised above. Soon put a stop to the noise, but its come back, need to sort it again (just to lazy at the moment!)

Just change or service the ballvalve, preferably for a brass one.
