Gotta install a frost stat on a system that uses a 3-port valve.

Is it the grey wire from the 3-P valve that should be driven by HW OFF of the controller/timer? It's a Honeywell 3 port valve.

Cheers

No it isn't.

More info on the boiler and programmer please.

Usually the best way is via L & ch on in the programmer (4) ?

Cheers Scruff. I thin I have mixed 2 things here.

The frost free stat is one thing and I am kind of happy about that,. The boiler is in a loft space so needs to frost free. I drive the stat with permanent live, the switched output of the frost stat then goes via a pipe sensor to the boiler demand so it fires up regardless of the controller/timer. As soon as the pipe stat sense heat it then breaks the supply which the shuts down the boiler.

I am also due to rewire up the wiring centre as the current one is a birds nest of choc blocks (loads) all shoved into a back box and a blanking plate fitted on top. I will be replacing it with a Honeywell wiring station and it was the 23 port valve I have problems with as there is no spring return unlike a 2 port valve so it has to be driven back?

Cheers again Scruff

Victor

The frost stat and the pipe stat can be connected in series.

What does a 23 port valve look like.

Needs some numbers.

I assume the 3port is the diverter type and not the flow share.
