Thought you were going to say:

"only about 5 miles from where I live sadly i'm not fit enough to pedal there"

Who does this remind you of?
Did you build your own cars when you raced before? What size are they? What are they made of? What tools did you use to make the cars? Were you in the first three in any of the races? How fast do they go?

I'm off to the pub before you come after me.

Never in the top three...

The top teams have "Access" to all sorts of engineering....we had a three speed "SturmeyArcher" some wheels off a "Borrowed" bike...a plastic seat...(One of those orange jobs from 1978ish school)....

Year 1...Brake hard after the pit straight...the police motorcycyclist had brakes....I didn't..rear ended him

Couldn't stop..no brakes.... :?

What a great concept and an excellent way to get kids (and adults!) interested in engineering.

Nice to see an event that is so family oriented too.

Where I live (10 miles down a single track road in a forest....) there's a section of road that is mainly downhill and you can freewheel for over a mile - up and down humps, long sweeping corners and some tight should-I-brake corners. I've always thought it would be a superb location for soap box carts!

Sometimes I wish I was closer to 'civilisation' so I could attend things like that pedal car GP...... then I see how nice our place really is and I think....meh.....
