Unless you've got Ikea units! They do their plumbing etc differently on the continent so they don't have a void at the back of the unit - absolute pain to fit unless you chase in the plumbing, leave tails, fit the units and then go back and refit the pipework!

With the outlet pipe going out UNDER the socket one can only assume the plumbing was done first!
Otherwise it could have been a 'shocking' experience for the plumber not knowing which way the cables to that socket were running.
Still breached the 'safe zone' though, which is bad practise.
