I'm watching Antiques Roadshow. a couple of items, a gold and Lapis Lazuli bracelet worth around £2000and a Mabel lucy Atwell sketch worth around £500 were both "found" and taken home by tradesmen working at the properties. Am I right in thinking that they were actually stolen as they were on the customers' prpoperty?

I'm not talking buyers of property. The owners got a tradesman in and he took something that he found in the water tank when fixing something.

absolute dishonesty
why do people think that they have any rights to lost property when the owner is so easily found
i do actualy get annoyed at programs like antiques roadshow and david dickinson ect both programs i love
for not at least pointing out the moral or even possible illegal act they have taken part in

Stoday,

You got the wrong end of the stick! Read my post again and stop putting words in my mouth!

Better still try i-player and watch Antiques Roadshow yourself! Look at it 6 minutes and 44 seconds in for the bracelet.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00f2dfs/Antiques_Roadshow_Series_31_Lanhydrock/

I just relayed what was said on the programme. I only mentioned it because I believed it to be theft and wondered if I was right in my assumption.
Did I say that I believed the water tank story? No !! I said "found".

Now had you really said 'he took something that he "found" in the water tank' I would have believed you.
