For me it was a bread making & cooking machine.

It was so useless I gave it away. The guy I gave it to dosn't use it either!

She's fooking hopeless in the kitchen...............and still makes it look like a bomb site, even after making toast.

She's only just learnt the recipe for that as well

We have a bread-making machine, been used a couple of times in five years. OTOH, my brother, a happy bachelor, also has one, uses it every day when he's home, has never had a baking failure, he says it a great idea.

I have a breadmaking machine - only had one bad loaf.

one thing to remember with them - not all bread making machines are created equal - most are totally useless, the odd one or two (like mine) are virtually idiot proof.

Panasonic make the best ones :thumbright:

Most useless gadget? those slicers that are promoted in the ideal home show for the last 30 odd years and are impossibke to clean and do not cut anything very well except fingers ::b

this kind of rubbish ...

Oven. Completely over-rated in my opinion.

I use my bread maker a lot - but then I am a sad bugger who lives on his own and the loaf sizes are perfect for that!

The slicer - or 'V' slicer as mine is known as. Useful gadget when making a coleslaw etc altho' a sophisticated food processor will complete a similar job in half the time (£20 vs £150).

Pasta machine - If your serious into cooking very good gadget, you have the opportunity to make some great pastas.

Breadmachine - its useful if you want nice warm bread first thing in the morning :thumbright:

We use our bread maker a fair bit, both for fresh bread as we get up and dough making, especially pizza dough, it means you can get on with something else.

I found the V Slicer tended to jam on hard stuff and I always had this vision of finger tips being sliced off (I know there is a holder thing!) and it was so fiddly to clean AND the blades went rusty with a couple of weeks (maybe I bought a crap version) - I can slice with a knife what that can slice anyway.

Bread Machines make much nicer bread then the typical supermarket rubbish.
And for less then the price of a decent load from a bakers, you can have a warm over-fresh organic load waiting for you in the morning.

I have a nephew that is a right PITA when it comes to bread and his 'rules' about eating bread drives his mother mad - but he loved the stuff from the bread machine :thumbright:

We've got a big Breville one £90 endorsed by Antony Worrall Thompson, great machine, makes massive family sized , loaves but the silver finish is rubbish and scratches easily.

Any product with an endorsement by a celeb I just ignore - the spec is usually lower and the priced is hyped 'cos people think that the celeb uses it - as if ::b

However, I too, have a few endorsed items that have been bought for me so I stand by my statement :boxing:

This is mine - panasonic sd253

This it is obsolete now, but got it from Amazon and there were massives of reviews for it, and just about every single one raved about it.

And the nut/seed dispenser really is more then a gimmick - works well :thumbright:

They have the Breville on there as well - http://********/reviews11301.html - not fantastic reviews, but the better the cook, the better they overcome the limitations of the machine :thumbright: (that is why I needed an idiot-proof one  )

I bought our bread machine simply for the maximum loaf size, I can't stand AWT, so his name on the product was not important.

We've had no problems with our machine in use just the finish is rubbish. My oh is a big bread eater, so it suits our needs. I'd get another good sized one again though, my mum has a stupid one that makes vertical loaves!

the only problem with our machine was cosmetic really.
