I just read this, o dear!

Quote:
THE most miserable age for both sexes is 44, a worldwide study shows.
But 70-year-olds in good health are as happy as 20-year-olds – exploding the myth of grumpy old men.
Feelings of discontent or depression peak at 44.
The trend is not affected by income, marital status or number of children, researchers discovered.
Professor Andrew Oswald, of Warwick University, said: “Most people emerge from the low period in their 50s.”
Prof Oswald said: “One possibility is that people learn to adapt with age – another is that cheerful folk live longer.”

The reference to 70 year olds is exactly what we said in the "Old People" thread - now how do all you young ones feel?   :thumbright:

Doug,

I still feel like a 26 year old, so not much will change at 44. My oh is 44 and his nickname is Grumpy!

sorry, but could every one stop posting their age if they are 44 or less - it is getting very depressing to the older members :cb

I thought we were supposed to be depressed. We could do with a Birthday posting, that way we can commiserate with the birthday people.

It's all because when you're 44 you still think you could get your legover with a bit on the side, but have no opportunity, hence you're miserable.

When you're 70 you don't even contemplate getting your legover. You've finally got better things to do.

But the word lube springs to mind
As for a bit on the side, at pres, I believe I could if I wanted- but I don't
Gotta keep the prostate moving

I sort of remember 44 as being pretty miserable - but 10 years on I feel fine so if you're coming up for 44 dinnae worry......... another decade and you'll be OK!
