I dont know if this subject has ever come up but I just wanted to express how much I hate it when people beep their horns when picking someone up.

Im pretty sure that all of those that are being picked up are fully aware that they are going to be picked up and at what time the lift will arrive.

Never do you have someone come to your door and offer you a lift out of the blue when you have nowhere to go.

Therefore 5 mins before your expected pick up to arrive you should either keep an eye out for your pick up or wait outside.

Then when they do arrive you can give a nod, a little wave or whatever you wish to let them know you have seen them arrive.

This to me is just showing a little respect to the driver who is probably going out of his way to give you a lift, and therefore not making him wait.

It makes me so angry when I hear cars pull up in my street and as soon as they arrive they hit the horn.

Some people even when dropping someone off wave goodbye and then a decide to confirm their departure beep that bloody horn again!!

So many times I have wanted to follow these people to find out where they live and then return the annoyance but it wouldnt be fair on the neighbours.

Thank the lord above for letting me voice my opinion on a great forum.

You cant beat a good old moan

Amen

It is very annoying, so are night horns.

Taxi drivers always use them!

If I order a taxi and it is going to be ten minutes- after 5 minutes I go and stand at the door and wait for it, same thing if one of my mates is picking me up.

If I pick someone up I don't sit outside and use the horn, I'll wait a few minutes and then go and knock on the door.

Loud car exhausts and revving engines are just as annoying ::b ::b

and people always remember Wile E Coyote as a dastardly animal hunter when, in fact, he was a very talented painter of realistic tunnel entrances.

Taxi's round our way usually miss call the phone you rang the taxi office from, when they are a minute or so away. Having said that, the controllers will tell you it'll be ten minutes when they really mean, they have no idea when the taxi will arrive.

And I thought this thread was about Trombone practice before breakfast. Or even a French horn!
