The present steed is an 04 S60 2.4D5 Auto
I've had a few things replaced already mainly for my own piece of mind (timing belt & water pump), I could have done without changing the starter motor but it was my own fault for not getting something to grip the solenoid when I undid the nut on the main wire.
Anyhow, got back to car last night after work & spotted a pool of oil underneath, got it home & raised so I could get underneath & the oil is leaking between engine & gearbox, definitely engine oil not transmission fluid. I now have the joy of removing the slushbox & finding where the leak is, as the leak came on kind of sudden I think it is possibly a core plug as opposed to the crankshaft seal. Still a big awkward poop of a job & one I am not looking forward to ::b :cussing:

oil or trans fluid ?, seal on the torque converter maybe or the crank oil seal, cam cover maybe a outside possibility

I would stick a camera/borescope in the bell housing before pulling it apart

Is the pcv blocked ? too much pressure in the crank case blown out the rear seal and or gasket

edit. Ah I see the core plug right above the crank seal, oh joy
