I have 2 items to repair - an large expensive food holder in my fridge (manufacturer wants over £50 for a new one) and a plastic garden chair just over a year old - out of warranty.
I have clear acrylic cut to size (approx. 28cm x 20cm) to fix the first by covering the whole front of the holder where the big crack is. I also have small green strengthening bits of acrylic (2 x 1.5cm x 10cm) to fix the chair by cementing them across the break - one on the back and one on the side.
I was going to use Tensol 12 to fix them but it says it is for indoor use only - i.e. not the garden chair. So I am now considering using Tensol 70 to do both, as I really do not want to buy both Tensol 12 & Tensol 70 products.
So my question: is it safe to use Tensol 70 to bond a large piece of acrylic on the outside front of the food container? Obviously, after fixing, I would wait a while until it is fully set and then wash it thoroughly (standard domestic washing up liquid and hot water) before putting it back in the fridge and placing the food back inside again.
Is this OK or does it have a period of time when it continues to emit fumes that means I can't re-use it for a week, month or even longer?
Many thanks

I asked a technical guy about this and he said that you would have to check with the makers as he was unsure which catalyst is used.
Bostik used to make it, but I just checked their site and could not find it!
