I have just installed a dual fuel towel rail with a tee piece for the heating element. This tee piece needs to be in the correct orientation to allow the valves to be fitted. However, the tee piece will not nip tight on it's O Ring in this orientation. I have packed it's thread with ptfe and no leaks so far, but the whole assembly is loose so I'm guessing it will leak in the future. How do I nip it tight please?

Loctite 55 pipe sealing cord would be preferred but at about £10 a roll you might try cheaper the yellow gas thread ptfe tape which is twice as thick as standard, put plenty of wraps will be the answer.
