Having seen the Trinny and Susanna twits on tv last night I want an upper body cast for posterity. I need to find a source for alginate though. Has anyone ever come across anyone that sells it in larger quantities? I know you can get kits but I'm sure it'd be cheaper in bulk.

My oh suggested it. I've still not seem bulk suppliers. There are Americans showing how it's done on You tube though.
This site sells kits to make personal scuptures.

Stoday,

That's all good but I've been trying to figure out what the coverage is of prepared alginate to know how much to buy. They sell kits for torsos but fail to mention how much stuff is in them.

Try Dental supplies - I worked as a dental nurse for about 3 years and got through tons of the stuff!

Bobbie,
Hope you're better!
I'm not doing my bum! My oh wants a life cast of my chest on the bedroom wall! There are 3 poses that seem to be the norm. I think that the second one is not bad and it does hands too! The first one is a novel scarf "rack". Apparently, it's common for mastectomy patients to get them done before the op.

I told my oh that they should be his hands! The only trouble is that the kids would have to be trusted with applying the alginate as we'd be short of hands! They keep reminding me that aliginate is very cold and if they had their way it'd be freezing!
