Many years ago when I was living down South, Godalming Gala booked the Rothmans display team. 2 miles away I was at a rugby club beer festival - must have got their co-ordinates wrong because we got the full display (absolutely superb) then they promptly shot off home - some very unhappy folk at the Gala - there was hell on for weeks aftrewards!

Took 2 yr and 5 yr old granddaughters to Netley Marsh Steam Fair Saturday, too bloody hot for me.

After disaster of rained off show last year, this wasn't up to normal standard.
No New Forest Plonkers (Wurzel type group), Marching Jazz band only Bloody Pipers squealing away.

Army parachute team 45 mins late (bloody pongoes always last in).
Fairground wasn't as good no big wheel or 'jumping horses', might not go next year.
Went 2 years ago and Granddaughter thought it was fun at the top of a big wheel in middle of thunderstorm, Grandad (was scared sh1tless), but we enjoyed it.

The 'cloud' of fog was only about 400 yards out to sea and about 400 yards inland, but thats enough to foul up any displays! Beyond that, it was brilliant sunshine!
