Maybe there was a family of snails or maybe a squirrel on a mobility scooter making their way along the road in front, and the driver was just being courteous by not overtaking only to brake for the red light?

Hi,

What a wonderful answer Chappy; you could be right and I would never have considered this; I'm always most courteous and will give way or even stop for any animal great or small; we've now got bus and bike lanes so lets get a petition together for an animal lane?

Bron and I have just returned from Todmorden and whilst driving through Todmorden couldn't help but see a large roadside electronic sign; you know the type I mean like the ones which light up to say "SLOW DOWN" whilst driving at 15 mph in a 40 mph zone; this sign had a notice attached saying "Sign not in use" and sure enough it wasn't in use as we passed it. It might have been written in braille of course? Wish I had taken the camera along then I could have emailed the picture to Todmorden council for an explanation because I'm not the sharpest tool in the kit

Kind regards, Col.
