I have a stone wall. I want to plasterboard and insulate it with rockwool slabs using a metal frame. I will want to skim the plasterboard to get the best finish. I am attaching radiators to the wall. The walls I have are not damp in any way. Could there be problems with condensation/breathability of the stone/any other problems with this method? I am leaving the wallpaper and render/plaster which is currently on the stone wall in place.

Hi Rake,
I suspect condensation could be a problem, a good 100mm gap between stone and new wall with the the cavity being well vented would help.

You need to vent the cavity if you are creating one and use a breather membrane on the inside if you want to be sure.
