Need to stick some 2omm wide x 3mm thick ally onto some larger section ally. It must be a permanent bond and will get some stick during its life.
Can anyone recommend a good adhesive i can use?

Thanks! :-)

You might want to try Plastic Padding Chemical Metal,
http://tinyurl.com/33eegda
(I have shortened the link and activated it. Mod5)
I have used it for vehicle body repair and it works well.

3m scotchweld, and the approporiate primer....

A quick scout says 3901 for primer, and 490....for the actual adhesive.
Its a 2part adhesive, epoxy.

The 490 rings a bell. Good stuff as long as its used properly, as with most chemicals.

Weld it. That is pretty solid.

Braize it. Bit like silver soldering only with an aluminium alloy "braizing" rod. Requires less skill because the filler melts well below the melting point of aluminium.
