Hello all

I have been working on a place in Skelmersdale, ex council and built in a very strange way to me

I have replaced ceilings with new boards and am about to start the walls, and this is where I need some help.

I have replaced the board on walls already were there were was framework available and so dry wall screws worked

The problem is that the houses were built like a pre pack kind of job. the internal walls are basicly a square frame with board on each side and a sort of corrigated board between (same kind of stuff you get between a cheap internal door) this means that there is no framing to screw into in the usual 18" spaces along the wall

My plan is to dot and dab were there is no framework and screw into the frame were I can

Does this sound right to you?

Also some of the walls are finished plaster with an emulsion finish, do I need to pva these before dabbing?

How do I know when the adhesive is the right consistancy?

What working time do I have with board adhesive?

Thanks for your help

Julian

UPDATE ON POST

This board adhesive is great stuff

After having a play around I got what I thought was a good consistancy (Like thick whipped cream)

I worked used a full bag in about an hour with no issues of going off

(I did make my second mix slightly sloppy which resulted in the dabs sliding down the wall...a little more mix added fixed this)

The grab of the mix was great and I used any excess to fill gaps in board at corners. not sure if this is right though :-)

Im back off to the job now, Hoping the boards are still on the walls

Julian
