Could anyone please advise if I need to fit an insert into the 10mm speedfit pipe to connect to a Pegler Terrier 10mm push fit TRV. There is an o-ring inside the valve.

Never used the stuff so don't know.

Do they make 10mm inserts, if they do then yes.

Yes you do need to fit an insert with any plastic pipe when using a compression fitting.

Speedfit used to make them specially for this without the rubber 'o' ring fitted so it would fit in the joint.

Don't know if they still do though

The man at John Guest told me you must use a insert in all circumstances (in a plastic pipe obviously)

The preference is to use a superseal insert but if using a compression fitting its preferable to use a regular one, I think this was due to the head sticking out further though. Can't remember.

I love the stuff, even I can use it

Hi gas4you. It's not a compression joint. Here's a pic of the valve. The elbow has a push fit connection on the bottom and I can see an o-ring and the metal grippers inside it. Just wondered if the insert was required. Thanks

I suppose its the same principal as the pushfit connections (i.e. tee's etc) you still need an insert
