I'm looking for a carpentry apprenticeship, i have completed level 2 bench joinery but would preverbaly like to gain a site apprenticeship. I also have some work experience (working part time while at college gaining my level 2 bench joinery qualification) for a carpentry company in spalding which i worked for building timber frame house panels for 7 months. I am very eager to lean new skills, hard working and very good at working as part of a team but I can also work alone using my own initiative. I live in spalding but would be able to get a guaranteed lift everyday to surrounding areas such as peterborough, holbeach etc as i don't drive at the moment, but I'm looking to learn to asap! I would also be willing to do an unpaid trial to prove myself aswell.
I'm not just looking for a job, i'm looking for a long lasting career in an industry i'm passionate about and enjoy.

If anyone has anything to offer please get in contact on 01775 762734 and ask for luke or email me on

Have you tried contacting any joinery companies local to you for a trial?

What a refreshingly positive message from an enthusiastic young man. If you continue that approach I'm sure someone will give you a chance. Good luck Luke.

I agree, it is good to see a motivated person who is eager to prove themselves. Good luck and I hope that you get something. :thumbleft:

good luck luke... i wish back in the day id sorted my head out and got myself a propper apprenticeship. i learnt what i do gradually. and through books. theres a few threads on joinery books if you do a search. or people may recomend a few to ya.

im personally in a bit of a strange situation. ive built many roofs. fitted many kitchens. pretty much all the general stuff that ya do when working as a joiner/builder on houses. but only recently got my nvq level 3. perhaps i kinda cheated in a way. i would rather have put the time in at college but it didnt work out that way for me. im sure id likely be a better worker if i had.

if i had a chance to go even for a week or 2 with someone like royal oak or alexander id jump at it.. even if i had to graft for free.. just for the experience these guys seem to have. i mean i am proud of the jobs i turn out. ive left houses and years later people still say my kitchen is class. or you did a mint loft conversion for us or whatever. but i feel theres still a slight bit lacking in my knowledge.

and also... some of the best joiners ive worked with have been blokes in their late 30's 40's and 50's that still love the job. there probably the best ones to learn from.
