Hi all.
I have a doorway between two rooms that I want to block off. I actually want to use the door space for some shelving in one of the rooms. So was wondering how much sound proofing can I achieve with so 2 inches? I was thinking of putting a couple sheets of that acoustic sound proof plasterboard up? Is there a better way? How could are the sound proofing boards?
Cheers
Trev

They will be better than normal plasterboard.
You could make a frame up. Board one side in sound board, put 25mm MDF in middle then sound board on other side. MDF has good acoustic properties and it will also give you a solid fixing point for you shelves.
