Been sourcing materials for my kitchen project.

Noticed that 40mm waste pipe marked "solvent weld" is about twice the price of the other pipework.

Does that mean the cheaper stuff won't weld at all?

I bought a pot of solvent weld cement a while back under the impression that I'd save money by not having to spend extra on compression tees, elbows etc, but looking at the cost of the pipe, i'm not sure i made the right decision!

Solvent weld pipe is far better than push fit, it's also a different size so you don't get them mixed up.

Push fit will not weld.
