Hello,

i have a socket in my basement - but there's no power coming to it. It's wired directly into the fuze box.

I'm not going to touch it... but before I get an electrician in just wondered is there a simple fix... that won't involve me electrocuting myself. Which I try to avoid doing at all cost :)

Here's a pic of the box - the grey lead is the one that runs to the socket - had a look at the socket all looks fine. There's now power in the (grey) cable when I run the tester on it.

any thoughts much appreciated,

Cheers

Mark

It probably has a loose wire. In your case I agree you should call a competent person to have a look in your Consumers unit for you.
