I am finding it hard to connect this valve which is a replacement of a valve in a cistern having a front lever action ,this valve which I took as universal is only for a push button flush action. Is there some conversion kit available to fit this to enable the lever to operate.

I'm not familiar with that particular brand, but I just googled it and it looks like it's designed for centrally mounted push-button only. There are several different types of flush valve, some of the cable or pneumatically operated ones come with both a handle and a pushbutton so you can fit whichever is needed:-

If the one you have is directly operated by the pushbutton pushing down on the top of the valve, as I suspect it is, then it's no good to you.

If in any doubt about what to buy, post a couple of pics of the cistern and existing handle, maybe the old flush valve if you still have it.

PS. "Universal", in this case, means it fits either 1.5" or 2" outlets, which are the two common outlet sizes.
