hi all

in the process of installing new shower, raised tray in and level. The waste that came with the tray fitted, but the flexi pipe supplied fits neither the shower wast outlet or the existing 40mm pipework
I found that a standard bath waste/trap would fit the shower waste though
is there another fitting that i should be using

A standard shower waste trap which fits from the top is the best type.

sorry scruff didn't explain that very well.
I have a shower trap, the outlet from it is a compression fit, which doesn't fit 32mm pipe, but a standard bath 'P' trap will fit..though this is not the correct bit of kit

It isn't meant to fit 32mm, it should be 40-45.

A pic or make.

neither 32 or 40 fit (40 too big, 32 too small)
the tray is ' just trays ' merlin?
waste supplied with it. i'm thinking the waste outlet is an imperial size? photo impossible at the mo. only have web cam on laptop, my other camera in a bronica SQA. (Medium format, uses that old 'film'....you remember..)

You need something like that p trap, and the pipe goes from the other end.

Is there a nut and rubber washer that came with the shwer trap.

Are you kidding in the first picture? The bath trap doesn't need to go onto the shower trap?!?! You don't need the shallow bath trap at all. There should have been a nut with the shower trap which, with a tapered washer, will fix the pipe into the shower trap outlet.

Edit: Bag up the shallow bath trap and nut and washers that came with it and put to one side otherwise you'll only get confused with all the different pieces.

No not kidding, I know the bath trap is not supposed to attatch to the shower waste.!!!

There was a nut and washer supplied with the shower trap, as well as a flexible waste which should connect to the shower waste, but this would not fit (Too loose), at the moment the only solution I can come up with is the bath trap to the 40mm drain pipe ,
which is already laid, buried in the floor[/b]

I would be tempted to put 4-5 rounds of ptfe on the thread, so it overhangs the end.
