Hi all,

Am struggling to work out how to make my shower hotter. The entire mechanism is hidden apart from the temperature dial. But when it's on "full", it's only really lukewarm. And with the winter setting in and the cold element of the mix bound to get colder, it's only going to get worse.

I've removed the front from the handle, exposing a screw, which I've removed, expecting to be able to recalibrate the handle. But it appears to do absolutely nothing. The handle still feels firmly attached to the rest of the mechanism. I may need to be a bit tougher with it, but seeing as we rent I'm reticent to push it too much in case I break. Besides, my girlfriend will kill me if she can't have a shower tomorrow.

:-)

Any ideas on how best to resolve this will be gratefully received.

Oh, and the four screws around the edge don't appear to be removable.

Cheers!

If you rent the best thing is ask the landlord/agent.

Noticed my two showers were not feeling so hot now that the weather is colder, cranked up the cylinder stat and the boiler stat from their lower summer setting and now have good shower temperature range, proving supply temperature must be hot enough in first place!

Did something similar with my combi boiler - except in that case I was finding the shower to be too hot for me and if I turned the temperature down on the shower the pressure also dropped and the boiler started cutting in and out, meaning that I got an alternately scalding and freezing dribbly shower.

I turned the hot water temperature DOWN on the boiler which meant that at the lower shower setting it didn't keep cutting out, so I got a nice consistent shower at a temperature I liked.
